Introduction
Databases are very useful if you want to keep track of information. InfoFind works with all popular databases and allows you to view and make changes to any database on your computer or network. The Database Manager can be used by intermediate to advanced database users to view and change database data.
Opening the Database Manager
You can access the Database Manager from the menu [Database]->[Open Databases] or you can also access the Database Manager from the side panel on the left side of InfoFind under [Database]->[Open a Database].
Viewing and Editing Databases
Viewing and editing databases with InfoFind is easy. Your databases are saved in a list on the left side of the form. A filter at the top allows you to quickly filter through the tables and database objects to help you find what you are looking for. This is useful for large databases and will work even when a database has 10’s of thousands of tables. On the upper-right of the form is a work area where you can run database commands (SQL Statements). Whenever you click on a database object from the list on the left side a command will appear on the right and the results will appear in the bottom-left.
Connecting to a Database
To add or change database connections open the [Database Connection] dialog from the main database toolbar. With this form you can specify a number of options on how to access a database.
When you click the […] button to build the connection string you will see the Data Link form. This form will allow you to choose how to connect to a database. To learn where to download database drivers
